About Us

The Dinos rowing team is an incredibly supportive, hard-working, dedicated group of people. Racing against universities from across Canada, the Dinos have achieved a national ranking that rivals many of our school's varsity teams. We succeed through our values of Dedication, Respect, Positivity, and Courage.

Why Row?

In just a few short years, the team has grown from a very small core of enthusiastic members to a legitimate contender in Canadian University Rowing. As a Dinos rower, you are part of a legacy in the making!

In 2015, the Dinos women ranked 5th overall at the Canadian University Rowing Championships, including a historical 4th-place finish in the women's eight. This marked the first time that a Dinos women's eight finished in the top six, which led to the best-ever overall ranking for the Dinos team. The U of C has also put three alumni on the Canadian Olympic Rowing Team, including 2000 Olympians Bryan Donnelly and Mike Belenkie and 2008 Olympic bronze medallist Tracy Cameron.

Our Dino's just competed at the San Diego Crew Classic Regatta, coming home with great results. Each of the boats that were sent to Crew Classic made it to the A finals! The womens 8+ coming 8th, the mens 8+ coming 7th, and the womens 4+ getting gold! We are proud to have made names for ourselves as that was the first time that the University of Calgary Rowing Club has been to that regatta. Each Dino came home with smiles on their faces knowing they had an amazing rowing experience.
